About Our Courses

This elective course covers employability skills required to enter and advance into professional career certification programs of your choice. The 8 week module course will outline life skills, effective communication, professionalism, the fundamentals of business. This course consists of 8 modules to be completed before enrolling in the Cosmetology and or Barbering program and throughout the duration of the student career program within each school quarter.

Donate

Career Prep will give the students the opportunity to set up their own business plan. Students will learn how to work as a team and understand how to build successful work foundations for sustainability. Students will earn a Job Readiness Seal in their diplomas.

Through career pathways, students can build real-world skills, explore career opportunities and find a career path that they are passionate about—even before they begin college. Students participating in career pathways are able to gain real-world experience in the high-demand careers our state’s employers are looking to fill, ranging from cosmetology to health. Often occurring during the school day, these experiences are integrated throughout the school curriculum and can help students make informed decisions about future career paths prior to deciding on a college experience, potentially saving students and their families money in the long-term.
